Reading University, UK: Sensory Panel Leader

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and confident individual to work as a Sensory Panel Leader for one of our clients, based at our Sensory Science Centre at Reading University.

This is an exciting new role where the Sensory Panel Leader will have prime responsibility for training and managing a new denture care panel as well as leading this client’s sensory projects through completion; from initial briefing to full sensory report provision and ensuring that the research design, panel session planning and leadership, sensory moderation, panel performance analysis and monitoring, statistical analysis and reporting and recommendations fulfil our clients’ needs and fit their KPIs. You will work collaboratively with the HR team to regularly recruit and train new panellists to ensure that panel numbers are at the required level. This role also requires working closely with the client’s internal sensory scientists therefore accomplished client management skills are essential.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent; sensory profiling and trained panel leading experience is desirable and experience working in the food industry essential. On the job training will be provided along with external training. This role requires a high level of IT competency (understanding of Compusense system would be beneficial), and good organisational and self-management skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and be adaptable is essential.

Reading University, UK: Part-time Sensory Panellist (Denture Panel)

Do you wear dentures and want to contribute towards denture products? Learn a new skill by working part-time as a Sensory Panellist and fit your hours around other commitments.

MMR Research Worldwide specialise in consumer and sensory market research in the food, drink, personal and household care sectors.

We are currently looking for articulate and collaborative people who wear full top plate dentures (no indent) to join an exciting new sensory team based at our Sensory Science Centre at Reading University. Using the new skills that you’ll learn, you will be required to evaluate denture adhesives, cleansers and specialist toothpastes, paid at an hourly rate of £8.20 per hour.

No prior knowledge is required as full training will be given.

Unfortunately, if you have any food intolerances or allergies, mouth piercings or chronic oral conditions this position will not be suitable for you as panellists are required to test a varying range of products.

This is a part-time role for a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The first 12 weeks will be a training period and will require you to work 2.5 hours per day, 3 days per week in Reading within a large group. These hours could take place within or outside of working hours depending on your availability. Timings would be fixed for the duration of the training period and agreed before the commencement of the role.

Following the training period, your core hours will be an hour and a half on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and you will be required to spend around 45 minutes of this at Reading University (between 7.30am and 9am as agreed with your manager), and the rest of the evaluation will be completed in your own home or workplace.

Parking permits for parking on the campus of the Reading University will be provided as required.

Role

The role of Client Service Team Assistant / Office Services Administrator is based in our London office and you will get the opportunity to work across a number of well-known international food and drink brands by providing administrative support to a client service team as they design and deliver market research projects. Duties will include:

  • Assisting with project set up such as; the preparation of stimulus and associated paperwork, checking product samples and liaising with internal departments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations & Word documents.
  • Checking data using Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Maintenance of on-going client databases.
  • Other general administrative duties to give your team comprehensive logistical support.
  • Organising equipment for new joiners
  • Booking meeting rooms / ordering stationary
  • Main point of contact relating to general enquiries for the London office

Hours:
