Reading University, UK: Sensory Panel Leader

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and confident individual to work as a Sensory Panel Leader for one of our clients, based at our Sensory Science Centre at Reading University.
MMR is an independent, global company specialising in consumer and sensory research within the food, drink and FMCG industry. We work regularly with over 50% of the top 100 global food and drink brands. We have offices in London, Oxford, New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Mumbai and Durban and have a team of 200 highly engaged and dynamic research professionals that is multi-discipline in nature covering fields such as data sciences, marketing, insight, R&D, sensory science and psychology.
This is an exciting new role where the Sensory Panel Leader will have prime responsibility for training and managing a new denture care panel as well as leading this client’s sensory projects through completion; from initial briefing to full sensory report provision and ensuring that the research design, panel session planning and leadership, sensory moderation, panel performance analysis and monitoring, statistical analysis and reporting and recommendations fulfil our clients’ needs and fit their KPIs. You will work collaboratively with the HR team to regularly recruit and train new panellists to ensure that panel numbers are at the required level. This role also requires working closely with the client’s internal sensory scientists therefore accomplished client management skills are essential.
Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent; sensory profiling and trained panel leading experience is desirable and experience working in the food industry essential. On the job training will be provided along with external training. This role requires a high level of IT competency (understanding of Compusense system would be beneficial), and good organisational and self-management skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and be adaptable is essential.
