PuiYee is originally from Malaysia but she has lived in New Zealand for the past 13 years. She has a PhD in Food Science and specializes in understanding products from a sensory, consumer, and science perspective. Before joining MMR, PuiYee worked within a research institution in New Zealand for about 4 years and assisted companies to develop value-added products that meet consumers’ demand. She has worked with a range of food and beverage products and used both qualitative and quantitative methods. Her capability of speaking different languages (English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and Hakka) has also enabled her to work efficiently with consumers from different cultures/ethnicities, both in Asia and globally. PuiYee has recently joined MMR as a Sensory-Qual Senior Research Executive and is based in Singapore. She is passionate about working with consumers and understanding the sensory and non-sensory factors that influence their product choices.
